Quick Practitioner’s Charter
Before you begin, simply check :
- My intention is clear and benevolent.
- My emotional state allows me to remain sufficiently neutral.
- I respect the free will and privacy of others.
- I remain responsible for my decisions.
- I am not seeking to manipulate or control.
- I am not seeking to communicate with the deceased or spirits.
- I am ready to accept an answer that I may dislike.
If these conditions are met, you can begin your reading.
Respect
Free Will
A reading should never become a means of controlling, manipulating, or spying on another person. When you consult the cards about a relationship situation, focus instead on what concerns your own position, your possible courses of action, and your relationship with the other person.
Remain Responsible for Your Decisions
Even when a reading proves particularly accurate, the cards never make decisions for you. They can shed light on a situation, reveal a dynamic, or bring a possibility to your attention, but the choice and its consequences remain yours.
Be Mindful of Your Emotional State
Avoid reading when you are overwhelmed by fear, anger, or strong impulsivity. Simply ask yourself: am I ready to accept an answer that may not correspond to what I hope for? If not, it is better to wait.
Keep a Benevolent
Intention
Curiosity, ego, and the pursuit of power or profit should not become the driving forces behind your practice. Above all, seek to understand, discern, and grow.
Never Use Tarot to
Communicate with Spirits
Tarot should remain a tool for reading, reflection, and divination, rather than becoming an instrument of spiritism.
For Those Who Approach Their Practice from a Christian Perspective
Tarot may be regarded as a temporary tool within an inner journey. It should never become an end in itself, nor replace faith, conscience, or one’s relationship with God.
